Scott Dooley, CFA, Founder, Chief Investment Officer and Creator of the Fusion Process®
Fusion benefits from the perspective of our dynamic investment team led by Scott Dooley. Scott oversees all portfolio management activities and investment research at Fusion Investment Group, LLC. Recognized by Institutional Investor News as one of the '20 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds'. Scott has been managing client assets in various capacities since 2000. Prior to starting Fusion in 2006, he served as Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer for Blue Vase Holdings, LLC where he chaired the six-member Investment Committee and was responsible for all decisions on asset allocation policy and security selection. In addition, he was the firm’s Registered Options Principal, had oversight of the Trade Desk including building out an online trading platform. After the firm grew to over a billion in assets and following the sale of Blue Vase to ING in 2006, started Fusion. Receiving a BS degree with Honors in Finance from Grove City College, Scott supplemented his undergraduate work with an MBA from the University of Chicago - Booth School of Business where he studied in both London and Singapore. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Pittsburgh.
George F. Matta, Director of Government Services
George is responsible for overseeing Fusion’s government and Taft Hartley relationships. George brings unparalleled governmental services experience to Fusion. He has spent over 20 years in elected positions in Pennsylvania local and county government including serving as City of Duquesne Controller, two terms as City of Duquesne Mayor and two terms as Allegheny County Clerk of Courts. George also served on the Pension Boards for both the City of Duquesne and Allegheny County. During his tenure as Mayor, George was instrumental in developing and implementing the investment guidelines and strategies that led the city’s pension plan to be fully funded. George received his BS degree in Business Administration from Penn State and a MS in Business Administration and Industrial Relations from St Francis University. George currently serves as the National Treasurer for the First Catholic Slovak Union where he sits as on a four member Investment Board.
